Fallout 4 is an open-world RPG set in post-apocalyptic Boston, Massachusetts. It is the fifth major installment in the Fallout series and was released on November 10th, 2015.

The game takes place after a nuclear war which caused most of humanity to die off from nuclear radiation poisoning or starvation. The player assumes control of an individual who has been cryogenically frozen for two hundred years before being awoken by their son or daughter (depending on choice at start).

As they explore this new world, they must fight against raiders for supplies and fend off mutant creatures that roam the wasteland to find shelter with other survivors. After choosing one of several factions to ally themselves with during their journey across the wasteland, players are able to make decisions about how to interact with the world around them which could have far-reaching consequences.

Fallout 4 is a sandbox game, meaning that players are free to explore the world and fill it with points of interest, such as settlements or stores. The player’s home base is usually their most important priority, as this is where they will store their items and equipment.

Controls

The controls in Fallout 4 are very similar to those in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Unless you’re playing on a console, the player will use the keyboard and mouse interface. You can move your character around with your right hand and click with the left to interact with objects in the world.

Character creation and customization

One of the first things you’ll do in Fallout 4 is create your character. You have a choice of playing as either a male or female, but can customize their appearance in much more detail than previous games.

You’re also able to choose whether you want to play as a ‘softie’ (easy) or ‘hardy’ (difficult). The game will adjust accordingly with higher difficulty settings giving players more damage and enemies hitting harder.

Enemies you’ll meet on your journey

There are a variety of enemies that you’ll meet on your journey in Fallout 4. Raiders are the most common, and can usually be found looting settlements or stores. They’re armed with melee weapons or firearms, and sometimes wear armor.

Savage raiders are a more dangerous type of raider that are able to use explosives and have more health.

Super mutants are another common enemy, and come in three variants: regular, brutes, and behemoths. They’re usually found in large groups, and can deal a lot of damage.

The last common enemy is the Deathclaw, which is a giant mutant creature that deals a lot of damage and has high health.

Fallout 4 ammo farming

1. The first thing you need to do is find a settlement that’s been overrun by enemies, or one that has an easy access point

2. Enter the settlement and kill all the raiders inside

3. Locate the ammunition box in the building and take it back to your base

4. Repeat this process until you have enough ammo for what you need

My favorite settlement to loot for ammo is the Castle in Sanctuary Hills. It’s easy to break into, and contains a lot of ammunition inside the main building (the one with the American flag on top).

5.  After you’ve acquired all the ammo you want, return to your base

6.  Stand next to the workbench and press E to open the crafting menu

7. Select ammo from the list on the right-hand side, and then click on the type of ammo you want to create

8. Click on the number of rounds you want to craft, and then confirm your selection
